Details
The body (mantle) of the squid can be stuffed whole in the following cuisines:-
- Portugal - lulas are commonly eaten grilled whole, or stuffed with minced meat and stewed (Lulas Recheadas)
- Malta - stuffed with rice, breadcrumbs, parsley, garlic and capers, then stewed in red wine (klamar mimli)
- Philippines - brushed with soy sauce based marinade and stuffed with tomato and onions then grilled. Or stuffed with finely chopped vegetables, squid fat and ground pork (rellenong pusit).
- Russia - stuffed with rice and vegetables, then roasted.
